Hon. Abdulrahman Abba Terab is the Head of Technology, Transfer, Innovation and Investment at the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission. He is a Nigerian Professional with a diverse background in politics, public service, enterprise development and education. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC) and a Board Member at the African Diaspora Research and Resource Centre (ADDRC), University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

Hon. Terab Holds an MSc in Management from College De Paris in France, and two other MBAs in Business Management from the University of Business International in Switzerland (UBIS) and MBA (Entrepreneurship) from the Nassarawa State University, Keffi respectively.

He also acquired a certificate in the Canadian Tax System from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, in 2013. He is currently undertaking a PhD Research on “The Impact of Diaspora Capital in Housing Development in Nigeria (1999-2023) with the Abuja Leadership Centre, University of Abuja.

Hon. Terab possesses a range of skills and competencies, including Information Technology Management and training, Public Policy and Strategic Management, human relations, Budgeting and Appropriations, Public finance, Investment and Enterprise development, Project Management consulting, strategic management, Strategic marketing and Diaspora Remittances and Investment.

Hon. Abdulrahman Abba Terab has been actively involved in politics and public service. From 2005 to 2011, he served as a Member of the Borno State Executive Council. During this period, he held positions such as Hon. Commissioner of the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Youth Empowerment (2005-2007), Hon. Commissioner of the Ministry of Land and Survey (2007-2008), and Hon. Commissioner of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (2008-2009). He also served as the Hon. Commissioner of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in 2010.
In 2011, Hon. Abdulrahman Abba Terab was elected as the Honourable Member of the House of Representatives, representing Bama, Ngala, and Kala-Balge Federal Constituency in Borno State. During his tenure, he served on various committees, including the House of Representatives Committees on Diaspora, Finance, Appropriations, House Services, Science and Technology, and Emergency Preparedness. He also held chairmanship positions of sub-committees on Insurance, Works Appropriation, Housing Appropriation, Transport Appropriation.

Apart from his political career, Hon. Abdulrahman Abba Terab has been involved in several professional and advisory roles. He has served as the Chairman of the Borno State Tennis Association since 2012. From 2015 to 2019, he worked as the Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economy to the Rt. Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives in Abuja. He has also served as the Secretary of the Advisory Committee on the Implementation of Local Content Component in the 3050MW Mambila Hydro-Electric Power Project. In 2020, he became a member and head of the Secretariat for the Ad-Hoc Committee for the Establishment of Nigeria Diaspora Investment Trust Fund. In 2021, he was elected as the Vice President of the Nigerian Tennis Federation.

Outside of his professional pursuits, he enjoys hobbies such as Tennis, Astronomy, Traveling, Documentaries, and Swimming.

He has traveled to various countries, including Switzerland, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, China, Turkey, South Africa, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Libya, Egypt, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Chad, Niger Republic, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Rwanda, Taiwan, and India.

Hon. Abdulrahman Terab is Married with four Children.
